Ghost on a Bridge

When I was a nipper, this spooky poem was my go to trick or treat party piece. I wanted to bring it to life for a mini Halloween film, exploring a more gothic, cinematic atmosphere.

I used a blend of techniques to pull this together. Primarily After Effects shape layers with a bit of cloth simulation in Cinema 4D to make the dress.

Bubblin Brew

Fellinda Cauldron gets groovy as she prepares her annual Halloween brew!

This short celebrates the joyful, playful and creative side of Halloween. The music track captures a feeling of ‘playful spooky nostalgia’ which I felt was a perfect starting point for the groovy witch.

Made with a blend of After Effects, Animate and Procreate - I really loved making this!

Animatic vs Final

I like to get to an animatic as quickly as I can, as it helps visualise the timings, pacing and identify moments for fun transitions. It also allows me to see what’s required in terms of design and FX.

During the animatic, I keep my storyboards really lose and rough - as it allows me to iterate quickly and test new ideas at a sketch level first. At this stage, my primary goal is to communicate the story, pacing and energy for the final production.
